Where do i live? (Houbara)

Between the two species of Houbara Bustards, the Asian Houbara Bustard is the long-distance migrant. The North African
Houbara Bustard does not migrate long distances, but moves within a particular
and contiguous region. The Houbara Bustard species found in the Canary Islands is a resident species.

For the migrant Asian Houbara Bustards, most birds breed in Kazakhstan,Uzbekistan, Mongolia and China. In
the steppe and semi-desert habitats of these countries, winters are extremely cold and summers are hot. The Houbara
Bustards found here are all migratory, and prefer to spend their winters in the Arabian Peninsula and South-central
Asia. To escape the cold winters, they migrate from Northern Asia to fly across the Central Asian Flyway to winter in
the Southern regions of Asia, where it warm. The Central Asian Flyway covers a large continental area of Eurasia between
the Arctic and Indian Oceans, and the
associated island chain.
